The Nantucket Shed is a proper New England crafted woodshed with windows and one of our most popular storage designs. Able to enhance even the smallest yard, the traditional wooden Nantucket shed offers tremendous quality while being both economical and versatile. The design lends itself nicely toward use as a small child’s playhouse, potting area or general lawn and garden storage.

Choose between multiple layouts. Floorplan A provides a single door and 2×2 hinged barn sash window. This layout is great when using the building as a tiny potting shed, playhouse, or even a chicken coop. If you need simple and secure storage, Floorplan B provides a solid pine double door with a treated ramp. This option works well if you want to store bicycles, a lawnmower, and a wheelbarrow. Floorplan C is similar to Floorplan B, but with a single door instead of double doors.

Pick Your Size & Type

The Nantucket shed may be purchased in sizes ranging from 6×8 up to 6×12. Pick from a kit or a fully assembled storage unit. We ship kits anywhere within the Continental United States and parts of Eastern Canada. Assembled buildings may be shipped up to 300 miles from our factory in South Londonderry, Vermont.

• Complete Shell – With this package you get everything to build the Nantucket. Rough sawn hemlock floor framing and decking, hemlock post and beam wall framing, hemlock rafters, pine board siding, and a corrugated metal roof in Evergreen. The window and door configuration will depend on which floorplan is selected. Kits include fastening hardware and step-by-step building instructions that go along with your project.

Customize

This small shed is a lot of fun to personalize. Since it has a small footprint choosing alternative siding, flooring, and roofing options won’t break the bank. We also offer a variety of options for enhancing the structural integrity of your shed.

• Strengthen – Upgrading your floor joists and roof rafters from 24” on center to 16” on center can strengthen your floor and roof weight ratings. While this isn’t always necessary, some of our customers live in extreme weather climates and enjoy having extra peace of mind. Upgrading the skids, joists, and floor decking to treated lumber protects your building if it is being built on damp ground. Termite shields and shed anchors may provide protection from pests and high winds.

• Personalize – We have simplified the process for modifying the look of your Nantucket shed. Upgrade the flooring, siding, and roofing to match your style. 2-inch-thick pine tongue and groove decking is a sturdy flooring choice that looks beautiful. Pine and cedar siding choices are all-natural and enhance the beauty of your storage building. Metal roofing is affordable, but you also have the option to pick architectural asphalt shingles, clear poly panels, or Western Red Cedar shingles or shakes for the roofing.

We have seen several of our clients opt for the Eastern White Pine log cabin siding with the Nantucket. Paired with a corrugated metal roof, this combination is simply adorable. Log cabins are a popular housing style all around New England, and much of the United States.

• Add-Ons – We have lots of other goodies you can purchase with your Nantucket building or kit. A cedar flower box placed under the window provides a great place to plant flowers. Topping off the roof with one of our copper weathervanes would be a cute addition too. If you need more storage space including an overhang kit is the way to go.
