The Permit Process

What do I need for a permit? Many states, counties and towns may require additional documentation that your building will meet minimum requirements for snow loads, wind loads, insulation and other factors. You therefore may need engineered stamped plans to obtain your permit. After you purchase the Step-By-Step plans for one of our kits, you can bring these plans to a structural engineer. The engineer will assess the structure, as well as local building codes, and will be able to provide the calculations and drawings necessary to obtain a permit. If the building codes in your area require additional features to be added, the engineer will advise you.
