Purchasing plans is a good way to start your DIY building process. You can review them with a carpenter near you that you trust, show them to your town officials for permitting questions, and source the materials locally if you can. Digital plans access allows for multiple downloads as you navigate the planning process. If upon review of your Smithaven plans you decide that purchasing a Pre-Cut-Kit or Fully Assembled is the best option for you, we will refund your plans purchase – no questions asked.
The Smithaven boasts an asymmetrical saltbox roof, an arched door, and a windowed dormer that adds more space overhead. The extra barn sash and transom windows allow for lots of natural light. The open floor plan makes the Smithaven one of our most versatile and beloved designs – the possibilities for this adorable building are pretty much endless!

For a more whimsical look, Debbie Kershner Beck installed one of our rugged, circular doors hand-crafted from 2” thick tongue and groove pine and outfitted with wrought iron hinges.
