At the Jamaica Cottage Shop, we take pride in the fact that our cottage kits are handmade in Vermont, from native rough sawn hemlock and pine lumber. All the wooden parts and framing members are precut and color-coded for easy assembly. Depending on the size and level of customization of the project, it is estimated that your prefab cottages will take approximately forty hours for two people to assemble. These cottage kits are shipped complete. All fastening hardware, metal roofing, and the step-by-step plans necessary for easy assembly are included. Like all of our precut kits, the cottage kits are geared for those with beginner carpentry skills, no special tools are required and technical support is provided via our toll-free support line.
Since all of our cottage house kits are made to order, they can be customized to fit your needs. We offer insulation, plumbing and electrical packages; alternative choices for roofing, siding, flooring, windows, and doors; and other custom options such as built-in storage, decorative arches, cupolas, painting, staining, and flower boxes.
