All About The Two Bay Garage
The Two-Bay Garage is a large post and beam model that comes with design options to create a functional space to suit a variety of needs. This versatile frame can be set up for cold storage, as a two or three bay garage, as living quarters, as a livestock barn or any combination that suits your needs. The frame set up as a cabin is a favorite as a 1,200 square foot tiny house. As a Two-Bay Garage, the space creates room for your cars and workshop. A full-sized loft provides quite a bit of additional storage space for equipment and tools, feed, holiday decorations and any other odds and ends you want to stash away. The Two-Bay Garage can shelter horses, cows, goats, and sheep with enough room for tack and grain while the standard full loft makes great hay storage.
Choose Your Size & type
Start by choosing your size. We offer the Two Bay Garage in the following sizes: 20’x30′, 20’x40′, 24’x30′ and 24’x40′. The kit comes with a full-sized loft placed at 10’ high. The Two Bay Garage is offered as a frame only pre-cut kit or complete shell.
• Complete Shell – With this package you get everything needed to set up Two Bay Garage shell. A treated sill plate, hemlock wall and roof framing, shiplap pine siding, a metal roof, two overhead garage doors, and a single side entrance come with this package. The Two Bay Garage may be ordered as a Pre-Cut Kit delivered anywhere in the Continental United States and parts of Canada.
Each type of building comes with default options that match our specifications. However, if you want to personalize your garage, we have made that process a breeze. As you go through each step, you’ll be able to pick and choose which options you want.
• Strengthen – Our post and beam Two Bay Garage was designed with New England weather conditions in mind. But that doesn’t mean you can’t strengthen it even more. Roof rafters can be upgraded to 12” on center for an increased snow load rating.
• Personalize – Enhance the look of your two-car garage kit by choosing a different siding, or roofing. We offer a variety of pine and cedar siding choices. Roofing material comes in a variety of corrugated metal colors, cedar shingles, or clear poly roof panels. Pine or Cedar Clapboard siding would be an excellent upgrade for this garage, depending on your preference and location. Upgrading to a Western Red Cedar shingle roof adds a distinct reddish color to your building.
• Add-Ons – You will need a way to access your loft. We offer a pine loft ladder or get the stair system that was designed specifically for this garage. The kit includes the runners, treads, and a platform. Step-by-step DIY assembly instructions are included. If you want to gain additional storage space, consider ordering an overhang, porch, or enclosure kit. The overhang is a side-lean to that provides outdoor shelter and sits on a sill plate. The covered porch includes a floor system, making it a great spot for relaxing or working. With an enclosure, we enclose the overhang so you gain even more interior space for storage and working. One or two of these kits can be added to your building, so mixing and matching is possible. For example, you could have an enclosure on one bearing wall, and an overhang on the other. A premium trim package creates a polished look for a metal roof while using enclosure strips to close up the gaps in the metal roofing rib pattern. If you need some storage for your larger handled tools add some peg racks to the wall framing.
