For any serious gardener, whether you are a novice or have a black belt in green thumbs, a Greenhouse is essential for getting a head start. Why not treat yourself to a deluxe post and beam garden building, loaded with helpful features? Our design is structurally sound and easy on the eyes too. The compact size means the complete Pre-Cut Greenhouse Kit is a great building project for novice carpenters. We build ours on a treated sill plate that can sit directly on a gravel foundation.
Since you will be watering many potted plants it’s a good idea to have plenty of drainage. The built-in workbench provides a spot for potting, without needing to strain your back. The clear poly roof and barn sash windows bring in tons of sunlight, just what your plants need. Finally, we include a combination screen/glass door. Use the screen door during warm weather. In the late autumn to early spring, the glass door insert will help control the climate in your shed, so your plants don’t freeze.
Choose Your Size & Type
Decide how large you want your greenhouse. If your site doesn’t have much space, get the 6’x8′. We also offer 8’x10′ and 10’x14′ for those who are ambitious. Pre-Cut Kits ship anywhere in the continental United States and parts of Canada. If your building site is located up to 300 miles of our factory, it may be possible to order a fully assembled greenhouse.
• Complete Shell – This package includes everything needed to complete the greenhouse. Treated sill plate, rough sawn hemlock wall and roof framing, Eastern White Pine board and batten siding, combination doors, barn sash windows, and a clear poly roof come with this build.
Customize
Greenhouses come with default options that match the specifications. You are able to upgrade the siding and roofing to different styles if you find that appealing. We have a rundown of popular customization options:
• Strengthen – Greenhouse rafters get installed 24” on center. This placement is strong enough for long New England winters, but in some places, you may need a strong weight rating. You can upgrade your building to have 16” on center rafters.
• Personalize – We recommend sticking with a sill plate if you plan on potting in your greenhouse. However, we do offer a floor system, in hemlock or treated lumber, if that is something you desire. Board and batten pine comes standard or choose from other pine and cedar options. It is also a good idea to stick with the clear poly roof. If you are planning on using your greenhouse for a different shelter purpose though, we have metal and shingle roofing options. With the windows and workbench, it could be converted into a sunny backyard office or workshop for making jewelry and small woodworking projects.
• Add-Ons – Our cedar flower boxes look incredible with the greenhouse, especially if one is placed under each window. Install wrought iron brackets on either side of the door, to create a spot for hanging plants.
