Designed as a sturdy and multi-functional Garbage Shed, this model is strong enough to withstand the pesky critters that frequent local garbage bins. Built with beefy 4″x4″ post and beam hemlock, this shed will hold up through many years and keep any curious critters out, including that “up to no good” neighborhood raccoon. The two sets of double doors allow for easy access making it effortless to separate your garbage and recycling. But that is not where it’s uses end, this little structure is practical beyond the storage of waste. Use this little shed as a great storage area for bicycles, big bags of dog food, or even yard tools. It is even perfect for gated communities, summer camps, sports fields, parks, playgrounds, and it would make a great garden addition. The front roof overhang provides additional protection from the elements and gives it some character and a strong visual. Standing at 8’6” at its peak, this design can hold all of your bins and equipment. Would you rather leave all your garbage bins out next to your house or keep them stored securely in this beautiful shed?
Choose Your Size & Type
Start by choosing your size and preferred format. We offer this design in two sizes: 4’x10′ and 4’x12′. Pick from a complete shell as a pre-cut kit or an assembled structure delivered to your prepared site. Fully assembled builds are available to customers whose building sites are located within 300 miles of our factory.
• Complete Shell – Comes with everything needed to set up your Garbage Shed. Rough sawn hemlock lumber is used to frame out the floor, walls, and roof. 1-inch-thick hemlock board tops the floor. Eastern White Pine board and batten siding and a corrugated metal roof (29-gauge) enclose the space. Two sets of heavy-duty pine double doors with a treated ramp provide an entrance for easily wheeling your garbage cans and other bins in and out.
Customize
Each Garbage Shed comes with default options like board and batten siding, and an evergreen metal roof. If you would like to personalize your post and beam building, we have made that process a breeze. We let you pick out your options, step-by-step, in our configurator. Here are some of the ways you can modify your building:
• Strengthen – Our buildings are built to withstand harsh New England weather but we also offer options to increase its durability. This building defaults to joists and rafters placed at 24” on center, but you could upgrade to 16” on center to increase weight ratings. If your building site is placed in a damp area you might also consider opting for treated skids, or a completely treated floor system. Tongue and groove pine decking is also strong and very attractive if you like natural wood flooring.
• Personalize – We know you probably already have a vision of what your dream shed will look like. For that reason, we keep a variety of siding and roofing options that allow you to match your building to your tastes. Pine and cedar siding, a variety of roofing materials like asphalt and cedar shingles are a few of the ways you can change up the look of your storage shed. Need some ideas for personalizing your Garbage Shed? Consider upgrading the roof and siding to cedar varieties. Cedar is naturally rot resistant, and naturally repels pests. Plus, everyone loves the scent of cedar wood.
• Add-Ons – Our premium trim package is a great way to tighten up your building and provides a polished finish if you are getting a metal roof. Enclosure strips fill in the gaps of the ribbed pattern in the metal. Then a matching trim is placed under the drip edge to tie it all together.
