In the Green Mountains, Adirondacks, and other beautiful wood and mountainscapes, similar structures provide trail side shelter along the famous Long Trail. This alcove’s generous overhang provides extra protection from the elements and sure beats huddling up in the elements with the other boy scouts.

Offered as frame-only camp building kits, complete pre-cut kits, or step-by-step plans nationwide, our outdoor post and beam outbuilding solutions give you the extra room you need for open-sided tool storage or outdoor play. If you live within our Northeast delivery area, consider purchasing a design fully assembled and delivered to your prepared site. Great for camping areas, picnic places, and a backyard hut for sleeping with nature but up off the ground.

Choose Your Size & Type

Decide how large you want your Camp Alcove to be. We offer it in the following sizes: 8’x12′ and 10’x14′. Pre-cut kits ship anywhere in the continental United States and parts of Canada. If your building site is located up to 300 miles of our factory, it may be possible to order a fully assembled Camp Alcove.

• Complete Shell – This package includes everything needed to complete the Camp Alcove. Hemlock floor system, rough sawn hemlock wall and roof framing, Eastern White Pine board and batten siding and a corrugated metal roof come with this build. Inside a built-in bench provides a comfortable spot to rest.

Customize

The Camp Alcove comes with default options that match the specifications. You are able to upgrade the flooring, siding, and roofing to different styles to match your taste. We have a rundown of popular customization options:

• Strengthen — The rafters in this shed get installed 24” on center. This placement is strong enough for long New England winters, but in some places, you may need a strong weight rating. You can upgrade your building to have 16” on center rafters. If you want to add durability to the floor system you can pick treated flooring options too, or splurge on the tongue and groove floor decking option.

• Personalize – If you want to change up the look of your Camp Alcove, we offer a large variety of options for doing so. Siding choices include pine and cedar varieties. Pick from corrugated metal, architectural asphalt shingles, clear poly panels, and cedar shingles or shakes for roofing. The Eastern White Pine Adirondack siding is a popular upgrade for this particular building. The boards feature a live-edge finish, creating a rustic style.

• Add-Ons – Inside you could install a few peg racks for hanging backpacks from. An expanding towel rack could be helpful for drying wet clothing and other items too. Any of our weathervanes would look fantastic on the roof of this shed.
